History of the Temple

History says the temple is more than 2300 years older. This temple is standing adjacent to the Kshipra River. All the mythology and history are surrounded with the idol of this temple, a black-coloured, and height of 120 cm. idol is sitting in “padmasana posture” and an umbrella with seven hoods is adorning the idol. Locals say that the idol of Parshwanath had emerged from a Shivling during Kind Vikramaditya’s reign. This idol miraculously emerged during the recitation of “Kalyan Mandir Strota” by Acharya Kumudchandra. For this divine experience, Acharya Kumudchandr was honoured with Acharya Shri Siddhashen Divakar by Samrat Vikramaditya and Jainism principles have been embraced. The temple was built by Mahakal, Sri Sukumar’s son. Sukumar had heard spiritual chants in childhood and attained Jatismaran Gyan through his divine spirituality. He took Diksha and embraced Santhara, a holy death following Jainism principles. Remembering his memory, his son, Mahakal built the temple, named the idol as Avanti Parshwanath. Later, the temple named as Mahakal Chaitya.
