Day 1: Travelling from Surat to Haridwar +

“Avo Ane Devabhumi Man Svagat Che”

Char Dham is the most sacred pilgrimage site for every Hindu who wants to visit here to attain salvation and spiritual essence. Travel Acharya brought the Char Dham Tour Package to the religious city of Surat for the devotees for punya or virtue. For this, you should head towards Haridwar, the gateway to all pilgrimage sites in Uttarakhand. You must reach the Delhi bus station, the railway station or the airport and then travel to Haridwar by road. Otherwise, you can directly travel to Haridwar by bus, train or flight from Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun. Our driver will be there to pick you up at your arrival place.

Surat to Haridwar- 1,325 km (18 hours 30 minutes)
Surat to Delhi- 1,126 km (15 hours 40 minutes)
Delhi to Haridwar- 216 km (3 hours 42 minutes)
Jolly Grant Airport to Haridwar- 36.6 km (45 minutes)

Day 2: Haridwar to Barkot +

During day two of the journey, have your morning meal, and we will travel to Barkot, the scenic stopover for Yamunotri dham. You will leave Haridwar with our driver and be dropped off at your accommodation. Enjoy your food, explore the lofty peaks and green surroundings, and rest for tomorrow’s excursion.

Haridwar to Barkot- 160 km (5 hours 9 minutes)

Day 3: 1st Dham: Barkot to Yamunotri and Return Barkot +

Pack your essentials, snacks and water as we will head towards Yamunotri from Barkot. It is the first pilgrimage of the Chota Char Dham Yatra. Start your trek from Jankichatti, which goes through a well-paved path to the Yamuna Dham. Mule, pithu, and palki services are available at the starting point of the 6 km trek. Also, you need to register online for the Yamunotri yatra, which is free. After the trek, when you arrive at the dham, the Maa Yamuna flowing through the steep rocks can be seen at a distance. Bhairon Mandir is 1 km from the temple. You have to take a holy bath in Surya Kund, the hot spring, before darshan of Yamuna Devi. The devotees cook raw rice or potatoes in this natural hot spring as prasad. Also, the River Yamuna originates from Yamunotri Glacier at 10 km, and can be seen flowing heavily downwards. After you have explored the dham, arrive at the starting point of the Jankichatti trek base. Our driver will pick you up from the starting point of the trek and drop you at the hotel in Barkot for rest.

Barkot to Yamunotri- 45.6 km (1 hour approximately)

Jankichatti (base camp) to Yamunotri- 6 km (2.5 to 3 hours)

Day 4: Barkot to Uttarkashi +

Begin your second Chota Char Dham yatra from the next stopover, Uttarkashi. On the 4th day of the tour, grab your meal and get ready to leave Barkot. Uttarkashi is also called the Kashi(Varanasi) of the north. Passing through the breathtaking ranges that refresh, they will take you to your accommodation in Uttarkashi. Check in first and take some rest. Explore the city, visit the religious sites and enjoy the jaw-dropping views. Dine in your room and sleep to reserve your energy for the yatra to the second dham.

Distance between Barkot and Uttarkashi: 82 km (2 hours 30 minutes)

Day 5: 2nd Dham: Uttarkashi to Gangotri and Return Uttarkashi +

Get ready, as we travel to our second destination, Gangotri Dham. After breakfast, you will leave Uttarkashi for this pilgrimage site with our driver. The drive will pass through stunning Harsil Valley, you can explore this valley after you return from darshan. The driver will leave you 0.5 km from the Dham, as further vehicles are forbidden to enter. Walk to the dham, or if there is an elder or someone with health challenges, wheelchair services for hire are available for them. At the entrance, you will be provided a yatra registration slip free of cost. You can see the beautiful temple of Maa Gangotri with adjoining temples of other gods and goddesses like Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, Bhagirath, Lord Hanuman, Maa Laxmi, Maa Annapurna, and many others. You can see the burbly Bhagirathi river flowing from the source of Maa Ganga, originating from Gaumukh Glacier (a 19 km trek from Gangotri, which is moderate to difficult). Take blessings from Maa Ganga, and if you wish to organise a special puja, a counter on the side is available where you need to pay a nominal fee. After darshan, return to the meeting point, and the driver will take you back to your room in Uttarkashi. Eat some food and rest for the next stop of the third yatra.

Distance between Uttarkashi and Gangotri: 95 km (3 hours 15 min)

Day 6: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi +

To visit the third pilgrimage site for the yatra, we will travel to the next station of Gupkashi. You will leave Uttarkashi after having breakfast in the hotel. The driver will take you through the Guptkashi, the secret city. The folklore believes that Lord Shiva sought escape to this place from the Pandavas, who were performing penance for forgiveness and salvation after the Kurukshetra war. After you are dropped off at Uttarkashi, check in and grab your meal. Explore the city and the ancient temples of this revered place. Have a sleep, as you have to cover distances for your third yatra to Kedarnath.

Distance between Uttarkashi and Guptkashi: 185 km (approximately 6 hours)

Day 7: 3rd Dham: Guptkashi to Kedarnath +

On the 7th day of the tour, we will travel to the land of Baba Kedar (Lord Shiva), which is the third pilgrimage site, Kedarnath. Keep the essentials in your backpack and go with our driver to Gupkashi. The driver will drop you off at Sonprayag, where you can take a jeep to Gaurikund. The Kedarnath trek of 16 km begins from Gaurikund. The people who can’t trek with health issues or senior citizens can hire a mule, pithu or palki. The helicopter services to Kedarnath helipad are available at Guptkashi, Phata or Sirsu. Seek darshan of Lord Kedar and explore the beautiful alpine valleys near the River Mandakini. There are many accommodations available for staying at Kedarnath Dham. The next day, we will leave for your hotel in Guptkashi after darshan.

Distance between Guptkashi and Kedarnath: 30 km + 16 km trek (2 hours + 6-7 hours for trek)

Day 8: Kedarnath to Guptkashi +

Start your 8th day of your tour with Baba Kedar’s darshan and aarti, and quickly take memorabilia to Surat. It's time to bid farewell to Kedarnath Dham and trek back from Kedarnath to Gaurikund. The driver will receive you and drop you at your hotel, where you can have a meal and rest. Be excited as we are going to our last dham of the trip, i.e. Badrinath Dham.

Distance between Kedarnath and Guptkashi: 30 km + 16 km trek (2 hours + 6-7 hours for trek)

Day 9: Guptkashi to Joshimath +

After your breakfast, you will be taken to the holy town of Joshimath. It is the last stopover for Badrinath Dham and is known for various temples and Hindu institutions. The driver will drop you at the accommodation in Joshimath. When you have checked in, explore Joshimath and visit the religious site. Have your meal in your room and rest for the excursion to our final destination of Chota Char Dham Yatra.

Distance between Guptkashi and Joshimath: 154 km (4-5 hours)

Day 10: 4th Dham: Joshimath to Badrinath Dham and Joshimath Return +

On the tenth day of your tour, we will travel to the last pilgrimage site of Lord Vishnu, the revered Badrinath Dham. At this place, Lord Vishnu is believed to perform meditation. In the morning, we will travel from Joshimath to Badrinath. After a 2-hour drive, we will arrive at Badrinath Dham Temple. There is a hot spring called Tapt Kund in this temple, you must take a holy bath in this Kund. You can do darshan or puja at the Lord Badrinath Temple and indulge in the divine atmosphere. After spending quality time here, we will return to your accommodation as you have finally completed the Char Dham Yatra.

Distance between Joshimath and Badrinath: 41 km (2 hours)

Day 11: Joshimath to Haridwar +

Pack your bags as it's time to leave Joshimath. After your feast, you will be taken to Haridwar, passing through the alpine meadows. The driver will drop you at the Haridwar accommodation, where you must check in first. If you have time, seek darshan of Ganga Mata and visit the ghats. Also, try the authentic street foods of Haridwar and explore the markets. Get a good sleep because the next day you have to leave for your city, Surat.

Distance between Joshimath and Haridwar: 227 km (8 hours)

Day 12: Home Coming: Haridwar to Surat +

We have concluded our Chota Char Dham Yatra, with the final step of returning from Haridwar to Surat, Gujarat.
