Day 1: Starting from Delhi to Haridwar +

Distance- 230 km Duration- 6-7 hours

Beginning your spiritual yatra of Char Dham from Delhi, take a flight or train to Haridwar. For cheap travel you can opt for a rail journey with changing frames of scenery, interacting people and an enjoyable experience. Our driver will be at Haridwar to pick you up and drop you to the hotel that Travel Acharya has booked. Enjoy your dinner and rest for the next day when you travel.

Day 2: Reaching Barkot from Haridwar +

Distance- 180 km Duration- 5-6 hours

Get ready and have breakfast because you have to head towards Barkot with our experienced drivers. The journey might be long and sleepy, however, you can see the mountains and vegetation with clear vast skies. As soon as you reach Barkot, check in your hotel, grab your meal and a good sleep for the first Dham of the Yatra.

Day 3: Barkot to Yamunotri and Return to Barkot +

Distance: 36 km+6 km(trek) Duration: 2 hours

On the third day of your tour, the driver will take you to the first Dham of the Char Dham, Yamunotri. After your morning meal, you will leave for Jankichatti or PhoolChatti, which is the trek point of Yamunotri. People who can't trek or have some physical issues can hire a doli(palanquin) or ride on a mule/horseback. On Reaching Yamunotri, take a holy dip in the sacred Jamnabai Kund to purify your soul and rinse off sins.
Visit the Yamunotri Temple to seek the blessings of Devi Yamuna. Also, see the divine hot springs of Jankichatti on your return from Yamunotri.
The driver will drop Barkot at your accommodation. You can try local street foods in the middle of the trip or directly have your meal at the hotel and rest for the next location to visit in the morning.

Day 4: Barkot to Uttarkashi +

Distance- 120 km Duration- 3-4 hours

On the fourth day of the tour, you will be taken to Uttarkashi, a holy town of Uttarakhand. Be ready, eat your breakfast, grab your bag and jump in the vehicle to go to the location. Uttarkashi is a stop point for pilgrims so you need to stay for a night and also you can explore the temples by the time.

Day 5: Uttarkashi to Gangotri and Back to Uttarkashi Again +

Distance- 100 km Duration- 3-4 hours

After staying in Uttarkashi, we will go to the next location of Char Dham Yatra which is Gangotri. Prepare yourself to experience the beautiful River Ganga originating from Gaumukh Glacier at a 17 km trek approximately. Worship the holy Ganga and purify the soul with its auspicious water that rinses off the sins. Explore the sacred town of Gangotri located near the revered Bhagirathi River.
After having a spiritual time in this divine place you will be taken back to Uttarkashi for the next pilgrimage.

Day 6: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi  +

Distance- 199.2 km Duration- 8 hours

On the sixth day of your tour, you will stop at the next station, Guptkashi, a sacred town where Lord Shiva hid in the form of a bull. The driver will pick you up from your stay. It's quite a long journey but to see the ancient temple surrounded by Garhwal Himalayas you can depart early from Uttarkashi. The famous Vishwanath temple is the main attraction as it resembles the Kashi in Varanasi if you have time. Also, you can explore nearby markets and handicrafts. Stay overnight in your booked hotel by Travel Acharya and be ready for the visit to the third pilgrimage site.

Day 7: Guptkashi to Kedarnath +

Distance- 30 km+16 km(trek) Duration- 3 hours

Tie your laces for the third Dham in the Char Dham Yatra, i.e. Kedarnath where you have to travel by road and trek from Gaurikund. The driver will drive you to the Gaurikund after your morning breakfast. You can visit this divine place belonging to Mata Parvati. Now your 16 km trek begins, if you are unable to trek you can take the help of a doli or mule/pony ride at your own cost. When you reach Kedarnath Dham after the trail, seek the darshan of Lord Shiva's Shivling and take Prasad from nearby stalls. The aura of the place will enchant you. You can spend the night here in tents or guesthouses.

Day 8: Kedarnath to Guptkashi  +

Distance- 30 km+16 km(trek) Duration- 3 hours

After the morning darshan in Kedarnath, you can trek back to Gaurikund by trekking or with supporters. Our driver will be waiting to receive you in Gaurikund. He will ensure a smooth drive to Guptkashi and drop you at your hotel. Rest in your room and dine after a tiring visit.

Day 9: Guptkashi to Joshimath +

Distance- 154 km Duration- 4-5 hours

On the day 9th of your journey, you will be taken to Joshimath by the operator. Joshimath is your next stop for the visit to the final pilgrimage site of Char Dham Yatra. By That time you can explore this sacred town of Sri Adi Shankaracharya and spend your night in the accommodation booked by us.

Day 10: Arriving at Badrinath Dham and then back to Joshimath +

Distance- 41 km Duration- 2 hours

Next morning we will be heading towards the last revered site of the Char Dham Tour, i.e., the Badrinath Dham. The operator will start early from the Joshimath to this sacred place. You can attend the morning aarti and perform puja in the Badrinath Temple. Spend your time in cultural and traditional activities near Badrinath temple. Also, explore the attractions and ancient temples. When you're done with the tour, the driver will be present to safely drive back to Joshimath.

Day 11: Joshimath to Haridwar +

Distance- 227 km Duration- 8 hours

Finally, your spiritual journey of Char Dham Yatra is completed. Now, it's time to go back home from Joshimath and get ready in the morning after breakfast. Don't forget to take your belongings and important things with you. The road travelling from Joshimath to Haridwar will be long. You can stop at some points for refreshments and purchase items from local shops on your way. When you reach Haridwar you will be having dinner and resting in the hotel for the night.

Day 12: Going Back to Delhi from Haridwar +

Distance- 217.5 km Duration- 3-4 hours

It's the last day of your Char Dham Tour and you can book flight or train tickets to Delhi. The driver will take you to your preferred place of travel either Jolly Grant Airport or Haridwar Railway Station, to depart Haridwar for Delhi.

Kempty Fall
Kempty Fall (Char Dham Yatra Package from Delhi)

Located at 17 km distance from the center of Mussoorie, this Kempty Fall is among the star attractions. It is a waterfall at a great height, which creates a perfect spot for tourism. Its actual location is in Ram Gaon and you can reach there by driving from Mussoorie for about 50 minutes. To make this waterfall a more attractive spot, there are cafes, coffee shops, gifts, and handicraft shops, and most importantly, the ropeway espresso.

Generally, you have to pay Rs. 200 to 250 per individual for riding in this ropeway trolley. Whoever comes here, loves this place and wants to spend as much time as possible.

Kashi Vishwanath

In the route of Gangotri, this temple known as Kashi Vishwanath is located in Uttarkashi town. You have to step on the right side of Uttarkashi-Gangotri Road to reach the temple. The temple is located near the District Court, and there are some other temples around, like Shakti Temple, Hanuman Temple, Pracheen Gopeshwar Temple, and Krittiwasheshwar Temple.

This Vishwanath temple is built in a large area and it looks huge and elegant. Most people visit all of these temples because they are located within walking distance.

Ardhnarishwar Temple

Ardhnarishwar Temple is a religious attraction on the route of Kedarnath Dham. When you reach Guptkashi, then, you have to move towards Guptkashi town by leaving Kedarnath Road. After a few minutes of walking on the inter-college road, you will reach the Ardhnarishwar temple.

This temple of Lord Mahadev and Goddess Gaura is spread over enough area, and there is a Kund in front of the temple. People sprinkle water to purify themselves and then go inside the temple for Darshan. You would see the mountains behind the temple and so the pictures look perfect outside the temple complex.

Narsingh temple

In Guptkashi, Narsingh temple is located at a 10 km distance from the Ardhnarishwar temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Narsingh, who is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu in the period of Hiranyakashyap. There are several ropes tied around the temple, and you will see small pieces of red, white, and yellow clothes on these ropes.

The temple architecture is influenced by Nagara as well as the modern style of temple architecture. Here you can visit while going towards Kedarnath Dham. Usually, drivers take a break in Guptkashi, so you should utilize that time to visit this site.

Mana Gaon

Nestled beside the confluence of River Alaknanda and Saraswati, this Mana Gaon is an 18 km distance from the Badrinath Dham. So people come here while visiting Badrinath Dham. This village has several special reasons to be unique.

Panch Prayag

Panch Prayag indicates the popular circuit of river confluences in Uttarakhand. In total, there are 5 confluences included in this circuit, and all are regarded as holy and pilgrimage sites in Hinduism. In all the confluences, the Alaknanda River is common, which meets with another river.

For instance, In Devprayag, the Bhagirathi river joins with Alaknanda. While in Rudraprayag, it’s about the Mandakini River and Alaknanda. The other 3 confluences, famous as Karnaprayag, Nandprayag, and Vishnuprayag, are about the Pindar, Nandakini, and Dhauliganga rivers. Temperature remains low and you will face shivering cold. So for that, we are sharing here the health and safety guidelines. Following these points will help you to remain healthy throughout the trip.

  • Before planning the trip, you must consult your regular Doctor.
  • With the Doctor’s advice, keep some normal medicines with you on the trip.
  • If you ever feel the symptoms of Altitude Motion Sickness, you shouldn’t ignore it.
  • Tell your friends or family and take some rest.
  • To avoid dehydration on tour, you must keep drinking enough water.
  • Keep some salted and sweet snacks with you. In case you feel down, then have that.
  • To save yourself from the cold, wear multiple layers of woolen clothes. Cover your head, ears, palms, and soles properly.

  • After a hectic day of traveling, take proper 7-8 hours of quality sleep. Otherwise, you’ll feel exhausted the next day.
