Day 1: Starting from Ahmedabad to Haridwar +

Distance: 1,183 km Duration: 18 hours

Beginning your journey from Ahmedabad to Chota Char Dham Yatra, your Travel Acharya will be booking train or flight tickets per your preference and budget. People traveling by flight will directly land at Jolly Grant Airport, which is 27 km from Haridwar. While opting for a train journey, you can see the frames quickly changing to different sceneries from Ahmedabad to Haridwar. On your arrival, our driver will be waiting for you to pick you up from your spot at the hotel booked in Haridwar. Chow down your meals and rest for your next day's journey.

Day 2: Haridwar To Barkot +

Distance: 198 km Duration: 4-5 hours

On the second day of your Chota Char Dham Yatra, you will be going with our operator from Haridwar to the first stop, Barkot. Grab your breakfast and backpack to hop on the transport. Take some snacks and water for the journey. When you reach Barkot, the driver will directly take you to the hotel for rest. On your way, see the scenic views of this quiet hill station. You can also explore the market, culture, and cuisines of the town.

Day 3: Barkot to Yamunotri and Returning to Barkot Again +

Distance: 46.6 km + 6 km (trek) Duration: 2 hours

Now we will be exploring the first Dham of the yatra to Yamunotri. When you have your breakfast, the driver will take you to Jankichatti/Phoolchatti from Barkot. Jankichatti serves as a base trek for Yamunotri. You need to trek 6 km, so don't forget to put on your trekking shoes. People facing physical constraints can go for dolis, or pony/horseback/mule rides are available at your own cost.

On reaching this trail, you will first see Jamnabai Kund. It's a ritual to take a holy dip in this sacred water before visiting Yamunotri Temple. After a dip, you can visit the Yamunotri Temple of Devi Yamuna (daughter of Surya Dev) for darshan. There is Surya Kund in the temple where you can seek the blessings of Surya Dev. If you have time to visit Kharsali, you can explore Shani Temple (Shani, brother of Yamuna) and Divya Shila.

Trek back similarly, the way you came here. Our driver will be waiting for you at Jankichatti to drive back to the hotel in Barkot. Take food and rest to prepare for the next day's journey.

Day 4: Driving from Barkot to the next stop, Uttarkashi.  +

Distance: 120 km Duration: 4 hours

On the 4th day of the Char Dham tour, we will drive off to Uttarkashi, which is the pilgrimage stop for the next Dham. When you have fueled up for the day, the drive takes you to Uttarkashi. After your 4-hour journey to Uttarkashi, you will check into your hotel room. On your route, you can try food or Garhwali cuisine. Stay overnight and sleep well for the next pilgrimage visit.

Day 5: Visiting Gangotri Dham and Driving Back to Uttarkashi  +

Distance: 100 km Duration: 3-4 hours

Be ready for the Gangotri Dham, the next pilgrimage site of the Chota Char Dham tour. 

From Uttarkashi, when you are done with breakfast and chores, you will be departing with our operator. Have your meal and get ready for Gangotri, where Maa Ganga originates from Gaumukh Glacier. On your way, you could see mountains, forests, and local dwellings. When you reach, you can see the magnificent Bhagirathi River, the source of the River Ganga, and Gangotri town on its bank. Seek the darshan of the sacred Ganges and visit the Maa Ganga Temple for blessings. Also, if you have time, you could explore the Gaumukh Glacier (17 km), forests, peaks like Chaukhamba, and flora and fauna. Your day will become auspicious with the hailing of “Har Har Gange.”. 

    After you have satisfactorily completed your darshan, our operator will drop you back to the hotel in Uttarkashi. Dine on some delicacies and have a sound sleep for the travel route to Guptkashi.

Day 6: Routing from Uttarkashi to Guptkashi +

Distance: 199.2 km Duration: 8 hours

Gearing up for the morning, we will leave Uttarkashi for Guptkashi, which is the next stop of the third pilgrimage site of Char Dham. After having your breakfast and packing, the driver will pick you up from the hotel in Uttarkashi and drive you to Guptkashi. 

   The journey to Guptkashi will be accompanied by the scenic views of lofty peaks and alpine meadows. When you reach your destination or tour, you can have your meal at the hotel, roam about nearby, and sleep well for tomorrow.

Day 7: Guptkashi to Kedarnath +

Distance: 30 km + 16 km (trek) Duration: 3 hours

Har Har Mahadev! Be ready to go to the third Dham of the tour, Kedarnath. The journey will begin early in the morning by dropping you off at Gaurikund by the driver. After breakfast, he will pick you up from the hotel to go to Gaurikund.

The 16 km trek begins from this revered place of Gaurikund, a moderate-level trail. If your physical constraints make you unable to trek, don't worry; a doli or mule/pony is available, but you pay separately. 

Helicopter services from Guptkashi are available, which will directly take you to the Kedarnath Dham for darshan and then return to the helipad. The operator will pick you up and drop you back at the hotel.

On reaching Kedarnath Dham, seek the darshan of Lord Shiva and the sacred Shivling. Also, you can request a special puja by offering nominal fees to the temple priest. Spend your night in tents or guesthouses nearby and indulge in the spiritual bliss of Kedarnath Dham.

Day 8: From Kedarnath Dham Going Back to Guptkashi +

Distance: 30 km + 16 km (trek) Duration: 3 hours

On your 8th day of Char Dham yatra in Kedarnath Dham, experience the eternal peace in the morning aarti of Bhagwan Shiv. After the darshan is completed, you have to trek back to the Gaurikund trail, and those who arrived here by dolis or pony rides. 

The driver will be waiting for you all to reach Gaurikund and get into the transport. He will again drop back to your hotel in Guptkashi to stay for a night.

Devotees who came by helicopter must report to the helipad for departing to Guptkashi.

Day 9: Departure from Guptkashi to Joshimath  +

Distance: 161 km Duration: 4-5 hours

On the 9th day of the journey, the driver will pick up from Guptkashi after breakfast and drive through Joshimath. Joshimath is the gateway to the last pilgrimage, the Badrinath Dham.

Stunning vistas and dense forests will be seen throughout your road trip. Check in your room in the hotel and have some refreshments. Take your time to visit the Sri Adi Shankaracharya Math. Sleep well because in the morning we will be heading close to the last pilgrimage site of the Char Dham Tour.

Day 10: Joshimath to Badrinath Dham and Returning to Joshimath +

Distance: 40 km Duration: 1-2 hours

It's the 10th day of the Char Dham Tour, and we will be heading to the last dham, Badrinath of Lord Vishnu. Grab your meal and leave Joshimath with your operator early in the morning. On reaching Badrinath Dham, you can see the sacred Badrinath Temple. It's a ritual to take a holy bath in Tapt Kund (a holy natural hot spring near the temple) near Badrinath temple. After bathing, you can enter the temple for darshan in the Badrinath Temple. For a special puja from a purohit, some amount of nominal fees are applicable. 

If you have time, see any of these attractions, such as Surya Kund, Statues of Pandavas, Badri Van, Saraswati River, etc. Meditate on Lord Badrinath’s name and enjoy the divine surroundings of the Dham.

After the morning aarti and darshan in the Badrinath Temple, depart with the driver for Joshimath. Transport will drop you at the hotel where you can have your meal and stay overnight.

Day 11: Moving to Haridwar from Joshimath  +

Distance: 268 km Duration: 7-8 hours

On the last day of your Char Dham Tour, the operator will drive you back from Joshimath to Haridwar. The driver will drive you from Joshimath after you are done with breakfast and packing. The route will be accompanied by scenes of the Himalayan ranges and dense forests and will go through the holy towns of Rudraprayag and Devprayag. The arrival in Haridwar marks the end of the journey to the Chota Char Dham Yatra.

Day 12: Returning back to home—Ahmedabad, Gujarat +

Now we have come to the end of the tour. After completion of the breakfast, the driver will drop you at either Haridwar Railway Station or Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun/Delhi Airport, where you have booked tickets for Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Check out and depart from the hotel with the beautiful memories of the Chota Char Dham Yatra.
