  1. Gaurikund:
    This settlement lies on the way to Kedarnath. It serves as the commencing point for the trek. Following the mythology, it’s been stated as a place where Goddess Parvati took penance to appease Lord Shiva. There are several springs that continuously release hot water, which have now been turned into bathing places. So pilgrims take a bath here and then proceed to start their trek with energy.

    After covering the minimum distance of 9.9 km from Gaurikund, the next serene stop is Lincholi. Nestled in the picturesque surroundings, Lincholi offers relaxation to the pilgrimages climbing up to the Mandir. It has innumerable guest houses and hotels which provide comfortable accommodation and living.
  3. Rambada:
    The other stop that delivers the devotees’ resting services is Rambada Village. It is at a distance of 9 km from Gaurikund. This small village is enclosed by dense forests and tall, lush-green trees, along with the gushing water of the waterfall, Rambada is a quaint hamlet.     The Samadhi of the prominent Hindu philosopher who is known for his great work towards the Sanatana Dharma. The grave is located a little close behind the Kedarnath temple. He is believed to be the founder of the four revered Dhams in Hinduism, which are of great devotion and faith.
  2. Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary:
    Operating as a conservatory for many endangered species living in the mountains, Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary is the most famous and largest protected area.
    In the Chamoli district, it includes an exquisite range of flora and fauna. Mainly known for its vulnerable musk deer. Other categories of animals, such as jackals, snow Indian
    leopards, etc, are also found here.
  3. Chorabari Glacier:
    In the Rudraprayag district, the Chorabari Glacier is encircled by many of the highest peaks of Uttarakhand. The river Goddess Mandakini emerges from the glacier and then meets with Alaknanda at Rudraprayag. It’s hardly 200 m from Kedarnath temple.
  4. Vasuki Tal:
    Encircled by gigantic mountain peaks, Vasuki Tal is an approximate trek of 8 km further from Kedarnath. Devotees and professional trekkers considered it a must-do. The route to it starts from Kedarnath, passing through lush forests and waterfalls, making this journey more heart-warming and memorable.
    The lake seems to exist in the shape of a ‘Naag’, and hence, it’s named after the Vasuki Naag, who is personally worn by Lord Shiva himself.
  5. Bhairav Nath Mandir:
    Continuing the journey for 650 m after the Kedarnath temple, Bhairav Nath Mandir is situated. As per Hindu beliefs, wherever there are Siddha Shiva temples, there are temples of Kalabhairava ji as well. Without visiting and having darshans at both of the temples, the pilgrimage is never considered completed.
