Like the other high-altitude destinations, Badrinath is also dominated by cold weather and atmosphere. It is true that there’s too much cold, that you will be shivering most of the time. But it is also true that this is the beauty of that snow-filled weather, that you don’t get to enjoy everywhere.

That weather is rare, and so you should take full advantage of that mystical cold climate. Besides that, you can overcome the consequences of that climate easily by taking care of yourself. If you will wear woollen clothes and cover the body appropriately then you will not suffer there. Additionally, you should consume lukewarm water to be healthy.

Know Your Destination of Badrinath Package from Delhi

Here, we try to introduce you to the destination that you are coming to visit. According to us, you should have a basic idea about your primary destination. To enjoy this Badrinath tour, here are some insights into the town.

Places to visit in Badrinath

Tapt Kund Badrinath:
Within a few meters of the main Badrinath temple complex, this Tapt Kund is located. Ideally, it lies between the Badrinath temple and river Alaknanda. This Tapt Kund is a hot water pool that is believed to be sacred. According to the temple customs, a person should take a bath in this hot water pool before going to get the holy Darshan of Lord Badrinath.

Besides that, taking a hot water bath is good for your body also. Because you reach there after a long journey in that harsh cold climate. So hot water may balance your body temperature and calm the mind.

Brahma Kapal
Beyond the Badrinath temple, there’s a small spot known as Brahma Kapal. This place on the bank of the Alaknanda River is known for some specific Hindu rituals that people perform for their ancestors. In Hinduism, after the funeral, there are some customs that other family members perform for the salvation of the dead person.

Following that, this Brahma Kapal spot is the last point where these customs are done. So if you want to complete any of such tasks, then go to this place. You’ll see there are many Pandas, who are assigned for this work. They make people perform 3 things. First is Pinddan, second is Tarpan and third is Shanti Havan.

Baba Neem Karoli Tapasthali
After walking a few minutes beyond Brahma Kapal, you will reach this site. This is a beautiful spot covered by eye-relaxing views of the Himalayas and rivers. According to the local guides, this is the place where Neem Karoli Baba had done penance. Its location can be understood as Mata Murti Road. But here fewer people visit, so you shouldn’t go there alone.

Neelkanth Peak View Point
To reach here, you have to trek for a few kilometers from the main temple. It is a viewpoint from where you will get to look at the ravishing Neelkanth peak. Some people who like to watch natural landscapes should come here to see the raw beauty. It is a perfect place from a photography perspective also.

Shri Ganesh Gufa
Located in the Mana Village, this Shri Ganesh Gufa is approximately 4.5 Km away from the Badrinath temple. If you walk to this location, you’ll reach it in 1 hour.

This is a temple of Lord Ganesh, who is the younger son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Gaura. Legends tell that here Lord Ganesha had written the Mahabharata. Additionally, he had written the other 17 epics. It is said that Ved Vyasa had requested Lord Ganesha to write these 18 epics. Fortunately, he agreed and created these masterpieces. In Hinduism there is very much significance in these 18 epics, hence people come to this temple to offer their prayers.

Vyas Gufa
In front of Shri Ganesh Gufa, this Vyas Gufa Mandir is situated. It is also linked with the above story. Actually, this is the place representing the composition of 18 Purans including Mahabharat by Ved Vyas Ji. Therefore, pilgrims visit this cave of Ved Vyas ji with great faith, gratitude, and curiosity.

Why do pilgrims have a craze for Badrinath Yatra?

Talking about this advanced technology-driven era, everything seems easier and doable. Till some ages ago, these high-altitude pilgrimages like Badrinath and Kedarnath were not used to welcoming such huge crowds. But, as the electronic gadgets came into existence. People who were not aware of the routes started knowing them through multiple online content.

People before that used to have great faith in God. Without fearing anything and leaving their materialistic life behind, they used to completely surrender themselves to the Char Dham Yatra including the Badrinath temple. At that time, these routes were also less developed and more challenging.

There are a few reasons behind this emerging craze. Through images and videos, if not everyone then half of the people set on the journey to experience the adventure and public stunts. Whereas, some people are becoming interested in their religion and customs, creating a bond with the divine energy. Another is renovations and modifications of pathways that are followed to the temple.

Health and Safety Guidelines for Badrinath Yatra:

This is the major topic to discuss before setting out on the journey. Badrinath is located at a height of 3,300m where atmospheric pressure is always high compared to the plains. So, you must visit a physician before starting your journey to Badrinath and must go through a full body test.

Other basic tips that you just need to look over:

  • Always carry water and keep yourself hydrated on such high slopes, because the journey requires lots of vigour and stamina.
  • Don’t forget to bring the necessary nutrition and food items with you, as there are fewer eateries on the way.
  • People who have heart diseases and breathing problems should avoid climbing these inclined mountains in the presence of comparatively lower oxygen levels.
  • Although the yatra to Badrinath Dham is accessible from the road, the route has sharp turns.

Travel and Safety Tips for Badrinath Yatra:

  • Before the yatra, you should go through the itinerary in detail.
  • You can maintain a small diary that will include all the necessary details about the routes and their condition.
  • Besides that, check the weather forecast regularly.
  • For people embarking on the journey to the Badrinath, registration for the yatra and its permit is mandatory.
  • Additionally, don’t forget to bring two hard copies in case of a sudden emergency.
  • Booking of every facility, including accommodations and mode of transport is highly recommendable. So you should discuss this with your tour coordinator.
  • Badrinath is one of the highly spiritual spots in Hinduism, so refrain from bringing any offensive item, including alcohol or non-vegan edibles.

What should you Pack for the Badrinath Yatra?

  • Because of the high altitude area, and frigid cold, the travelers are required to pack an ample amount of warm and woolen clothes.
  • The routes are often slippery and muddy, so you must borrow an extra pair of slippers or any footwear in case of emergencies.
  • Don’t forget to pack umbrellas, raincoats, and other rain gear during the monsoon season.
  • You must bring a first aid box and already prescribed medicines with you.
  • Make sure you’ve all your necessary documents and all the ID cards to assist you during urgent situations.
