Insights of Triyuginarayan Temple:
Triyuginarayan Temple is parallelly known as Akhand Dhuni Temple. This sacred sanctum is devoted to Lord Vishnu or Narayan. The pious Hindu temple has set its base at the height of 1,980 m in the quaint village of Rudraprayag district, Triyuginarayan.
The popular folklore that roams around about the pilgrimage is that Lord Shiva in this very place married the love of his life Goddess Parvati. Goddess Parvati was the daughter of Himavat who is believed to be the embodiment of the Himalayas. The locals here also address that the fire in the kund before the temple has been burning since the Satya Yuga. And nowadays many couples come to this temple and perform their wedding rituals here only.
Mana Village:
In the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, this tiny village is elevated at an altitude of 3,200m. Along with its unparalleled charm and breathtaking beauty, the town is known for its proximity to the Indo-Tibetan border and for being recognised as one of the first villages of India. Mana gaon or village is famous for many things including its Woolen fabric made up of Sheep wool. If you are fond of collecting memories, then you must buy some traditional things or clothes from here.
Among the four Dhams of Uttarakhand, the Badrinath Dham, and Mana village are believed to be culturally connected and the rituals or customs of the Badrinath Dham are majorly monitored by the residents of this village.
Guptkashi:
In the Rudraprayag district, this comparatively bigger village is highly elevated at a height of 1,319m. The deity here is worshipped as Ardhnareshwar, i.e., half a man (Lord Shiva) and half a woman(Goddess Shakti). The temple is believed to be equally significant as the one in Varanasi which is among the most sacred sites in Hinduism.
The tale of the temple is linked with the Mahabharata period when the Pandavas wanted to meet Shiva but he came hiding as Nandi in the Guptakashi. However, eventually, the Pandavas became aware of this and recognized Shiva. It has been known as Guptkashi since then. Besides this, the reason for its popularity is the strategic location below the Kedarnath Dham. So the pilgrims going to Kedarnath pass from here.
