Mansa Devi temple was constructed by Maharaja Gopal Das Singh of Manimajra during the period of 1811 to 1815. It is said that Mansa Devi was born from the mind of lord Shiva hence she is known as the mind-born daughter of god Shiva. In addition, Mansa Devi is regarded as the sister of Nāga(serpent) Vasuki.
Some people share that after killing the demons, Mansa Devi, the Goddess rested in the mountain. Later in that place, the king established a temple to highlight the significance of Devi Maa. That temple is now known as Mansa Devi temple.

It’s believed that maa chandi devi got tired and rested in neel parvat after fierce fighting and killing two demon kings Shumbha and Nishumbha.
These two demons had a bad intention to drive away gods from their throne and capture heaven. And so, the Goddess had to take action to end the terror of demons.
Later, in this place, Adi guru Shankaracharya installed a sculpture of maa chandi devi in the 8th century. Following that, Kashmiri king Suchat Singh in 1929 established a formal shrine which is now regarded as Maa Chandi Devi temple.
Chandi Devi Ropeway also known as Udan Khatola Ride is accessible to reach at the doorstep of Chandi Devi Temple. Although trekking is also available to reach the temple but ropeway is a comfortable and time-saving option for pilgrims. Along with it, views from the ropeway are breathtaking.
The Chandi Devi Ropeway Charges are very reasonable. For adults, it is only 165 INR, and for children, it is 95 INR. The ropeway starts from the lower station and reaches Chandi Devi temple and vice versa.
To avail of the Cable Car facilities in Chandi Devi Temple, you have to be there between 7 A.M. to 6 P.M. Through the Cable Car, you can reach the temple within 10 minutes.
Daksh Mahadev temple or Daksheshwar Mahadev temple is in Kankhal, Haridwar of Uttarakhand. This Daksh Temple was established by Queen Dhanaur in 1810 and it was rebuilt in 1962. The temple is named after Daksha Prajapati, father-in-law of lord Shiv and father of Goddess Sati.
Once upon a time, Daksha organized a big yajna and didn’t invite his son law lord Shiva. Consequently, Goddess Sati felt insulted and immolated in that yajna. This unfortunate incident made Shiva angry and as a response, Veerbhadra avatar of Shiva cut the head of Daksha prajapati.
Later Daksha convinced Lord Shiva and lived the rest of his life with the head of a goat. Since then, the Shivling of Lord Shiva has been worshipped in the temple and Sati kund is also reserved in this Daksha Mahadev temple.
