In the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state, on the banks of river Alaknanda, the Badrinath Dham, or the Badrinarayan temple is devoted to Lord Vishnu. Being one of the Char Dham sites of Uttarakhand, it is highly worshipped and considered very holy and pious. It opens for six months and remains closed for half of the year.
The temple is situated at an elevation of 3100m and provides a 360°view of the whole town encircled by the enchanted Himalayas. It is believed that Adi Shankaracharya during the 19th century had built this sacred sanctum.
The temple dedicated to the most pious and holy river of Hinduism, is located near the Bhagirath stone. This Hindu pilgrimage site is the birthplace of the river Ganga where Bhagirath performed penance and so for that reason, the river is also called Bhagirathi.

Badrinath is located at an altitude of 3133 meters above sea level. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams of Lord Vishnu and the most visited site of the Char Dham. The temperature at Badrinath ranges from 8°C to 22°C in summer (May-June) and from -15°C to 5°C in winter (November-April). The temple remains open throughout the year, but the road access is limited in winter due to snowfall.
Kedarnath is located at an altitude of 3584 meters above sea level. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and the most remote and difficult site of the Char Dham. The temperature at Kedarnath ranges from 5°C to 18°C in summer (May-June) and from -20°C to -5°C in winter (November-April). The temple remains closed from November to April due to snowfall.
Yamunotri is located at 3291 meters above sea level. It is the source of the Yamuna River and the seat of Goddess Yamuna. The temperature at Yamunotri ranges from 6°C to 20°C in summer (May-June) and from -7°C to 5°C in winter (November-April). The temple remains closed from November to April due to snowfall.
Gangotri is located at an altitude of 3048 meters above sea level. It is the source of the Ganga river and the seat of Goddess Ganga. The temperature at Gangotri ranges from 10°C to 25°C in summer (May-June) and from -10°C to 10°C in winter (November-April). The temple remains closed from November to April due to snowfall.
First Half of Day 1 (Yamunotri Darshan):
On the first morning, we will arrange your helicopter tour from Sahastradhara to Kharsali Helipad. After reaching Kharsali, you will be required to undertake a 6 Km to reach Yamunotri Ji. Here, you have two options: either hire a palki or pony or trek this trail.
By covering this 6 km distance, you'll reach the doorstep of Yamunotri Dham. It is the first temple of Chota Char Dham, so if you wish to perform the rituals in the temple, you can do so here. With eternal reverence and faith, have Darshans and experience the sacred Puja.
Thereafter, we request that you return to the Kharsali Helipad.
Second Half of Day 1 (Gangotri Darshan)
From the Kharsali Heliport, we will make arrangements for you to fly to the Harsil Helipad. On arriving at Harsil, our driver will meet you at the exit point.
Gangotri is about 22 Km away from Harsil, so this distance can not be covered by trek. Hence, we would offer you the car services. And our driver would drive you directly to the doorstep of Gangotri Dham.
After trekking to your second destination of Char Dham Yatra. On your arrival at the Gangotri Dham, we suggest you take a bath in the river stream and tapt kund. Then you should proceed to the Darshans of the Goddess and her birthplace (River Bhagirathi). In the complex of the temple, you will feel the tranquillity and the serenity offered by nature. After you are satisfied with Darshan, we will take you back to Harsil, and your 1st-night stay of the day will end in the cottage of either Harsil or Kharsali. Moreover, we would provide you with a proper dinner meal at an appropriate time.
Tip: If you are physically fit then you can easily trek to Yamunotri Temple by yourself. However, if you feel any trouble and have kids under 10 years, we recommend you ride ponies, which are available there at reasonable prices.
The 2nd day of this religious tour is dedicated to getting the darshans of Lord Badrinath and Kedarnath ji. So, we request you to wake up early in the morning and be ready in time. After that, we will get you a mouthwatering breakfast which is very well included in our package. Enjoy your hearty breakfast, then get ready to check out from the hotel for the further journey.
First Half of Day 2 (Kedarnath Darshan)
After checking out from the hotel, move towards the Harsil helipad. From the Harsil helipad, you will board a Helicopter to Kedarnath Dham. It will hardly take 1 hour to reach the shrine. This would be your 3rd destination of this Char Dham Yatra. To make your experience the best, we would offer you a shuttle service, so that you could avail the benefits of priority Darshan of Kedarnath Ji.
Second Half of Day 2 (Badrinath Darshan)
After the Darshans in Kedarnath Dham, kindly come back to the helipad again, and then the Helicopter will start proceeding towards the Badrinath Dham. It will take Approx 45 minutes to reach Badrinath Dham which is the last pilgrimage site of the Chota Char Dham Yatra.
Perform all the pre-Darshan rites you demand on entering the temple complex. Once done with those, you can go to have the auspicious darshans of the idols of Lord Vishnu and goddess Laxmi in the sanctum sanctorum. After your successful visit, please return to the helipad and now we will fly to Dehradun (Sahastradhara Heliport), where this 2-day trip ends.
The duration of the Char Dham Yatra by helicopter depends on your itinerary or the package you select. However, if you start your journey from Dehradun, it will take 4-5 days.
