Religious History of Gangotri:

The greatest of all rivers and the most pious, Ganga has its origin point in Gaumukh glacier. It descends into the earth in Gangotri. According to the legends, King Bhagirathi performed here great penance to appease Shiva so that his ancestors could be freed from the curse of Sage Kapila. That was when the Ganga river came flowing out of Shiva’s locks as only she could make them meet for salvation.

A million devotees reach there every year to wash off their sins and to have holy darshans of the temple.

Importance of Harsil:

When you’re on your route to Gangotri from Uttarkashi, you’ll witness the beautiful Harsil Valley. So here are some insights into this Harsil valley. You should take a few minutes break here and click memorable pictures for your life.

Harsil is the major production house of Apple in India. This area in Uttarakhand was supposed to be introduced by a British man named Fredrick E Wilson. Local people here believe that he came here with a purpose to trade but fell in love with a local young woman and decided to stay here for the rest of his life. Later, he laid the foundation of Apple production which proved as a boon to its economy.

Harsil also organises a big fair for the Apple festival that draws in a heavy crowd. The apples of Harsil are also world-famous and are expected throughout the country.

Religious History of Uttarkashi:

The land of Uttarkashi town has been important for Hindus since ancient times. It is believed that here many sages and saints performed various rituals and did penance. This holy site is regarded as the epitome of solace and tranquillity powerhouse where even devatas reside. In the Hindu scriptures like Mahabharata, it’s stated a sage named,
Jada Bhartha executed mortification in Uttarkashi and even in Skanda Purana’s Kedarkhand one can find many references related to Uttarkashi and the following places.

In Uttarkashi, there is also a trident in the Shakti temple which is believed to be thrown by the Goddess Shakti or Durga herself to kill evils and demons. No one can move it a cm even after applying all the pressure of the body.

Religious History of Guptkashi:

The five sons of King Pandu also known as Pancha Pandavas. After fighting a battle with their cousins and killing a huge number of Brahmins at Kurukshetra sought forgiveness from Lord Shiva so that they could start their repentance. However, Lord Shiva being profoundly upset by their doings, evaded them, and disguised himself as a Bull to avoid meeting with them.

Later, Pandavas recognised him regardless of his looks. When one of them, the second brother Bheema tried to catch him; he disappeared into the grounds and since then the place has been known as Guptkashi.

Religious History of Haridwar:

Lying in the Upper Doab area, Haridwar has occupied a profoundly sacred and sanctified place in the hearts of Hindus since its inception. This pilgrimage site is believed to be one of those places that received a few drops of Amrita (cure for being eternal). When the bird Garud, the carriage of Lord Vishnu, was carrying it in Pitcher at the time of Samudra Manthan.

Besides this, in the religious old literary works of Hinduism, the great eminence of Haridwar has always been written there and is also mentioned in its former names. In addition, King Bhagirathi performed penance here and found a gateway for the River Ganga to descend into the Earth.

Tour Itinerary For Teen Dham: Ex-Haridwar Package

Day 1: Haridwar to Uttarkashi
Day 1 will start with receiving and welcoming you from Haridwar Railway Station. Whenever you're about to reach Haridwar by train, let us know the arrival time of your train. Our driver will be there outside of the station for you. From there, he will make you sit in the car and will drive to the Uttarkashi safely. He will leave you at the Hotel in Uttarkashi. All you have to do is check in the hotel and relax. We shall send the dinner on time for you, so enjoy the first-day dinner and go to sleep. This first night will be spent in Uttarkashi. Tip: After checking in at the hotel, take a rest for some time. Thereafter, if you are a true traveller then walk out of the hotel and wander in Uttarkashi. There's a lot to explore in Uttarkashi from a Hinduism point of view. So roam the roads of Uttarkashi, and get Darshan of temples that hold significant stories of our rich history.
Day 2: From Uttarkashi to 1st Dham Gangotri and Return back (Gangotri Darshan)
On the energetic morning of Day 2 of Teen Dham Yatra, wake up early and get ready for tasty breakfast served by our team. Our staff will serve breakfast for you. So eat breakfast first, and be prepared for a visit to the 1st Dham of your Yatra, that is Gangotri Ji. After breakfast, the driver will reach outside of the hotel and will drive you towards Gangotri Dham. On the route, you will see Gangnani. Take a short break here and stare at the rare beauty of the site. Many pilgrims take a holy dip here in Garam Kund, so if you also want then go for it. After this holy bath, you will feel your body very light and tiredness will blow up. Thereafter, again get into the car and the driver will drive you to Gangotri via Harsil Valley. Harsil Valley is one of the most beautiful valleys of Uttarakhand. So be active and peep from your car window into the soul-healing views of this valley. After some time, you'll reach your destination, Gangotri Dham. Here, firstly take a bath in the holy river Ganga, which is Bhagirathi also. The water will be very chilled and freezing but still, pilgrims take a bath in the river and believe that their sins will end up here. After the bath, people perform Pooja in Ghat. Basically, they offer Puja to the river Ganga. Thereafter, move to the temple and hustle for the Darshan. Usually, the crowd remains high, so do not panic and keep calm. You'll be able to get darshan after some time. When you get darshan and are free of all religious rituals then look into the beauty of the origin of the Bhagirathi river. Spend some time in the spirituality of the place, relax your mind and body and then get into the car to return to Uttarkashi. Our driver will again drive you to Uttarkashi. You'll reach your hotel safely on time. Go and relax there overnight. Have your dinner as early as possible and go to take quality sleep. This night of the 2nd day will also be spent comfortably in Uttarkashi. Tip: On the way, wherever you find the beautiful landscape views, and if the place is safe then ask the driver to stop. Click some memorable pictures in the rare background of Uttarakhand.
Day 3: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi
On Day 3, your major plan would be to reach Guptkashi. Guptkashi is kind of a base camp town for Kedarnath Dham. So wake up early in the morning, freshen up and come to have your breakfast on time. After eating, pick up your luggage and sit in the car. Then our driver will drive towards Guptkashi. On the route to small town Guptkashi, you will get to see a stunning view of the Mandakini River in Tilwara. After originating from the glacier, this is the same route from where the Mandakini river flows towards the plains. If we talk about its origin, then it's Chorabari Glacier, which is located near the Kedarnath Dham. This young Mandakini river views are so mesmerising, that you couldn't stop yourself from taking a break here. So ask the driver and take a few minutes break in real life. Look at the beautiful walk of the river and the hilly background justifying its origin. Thereafter get back into the car. Because the Mandakini River comes from the same route, you'll get to see it throughout your journey to the Guptkashi. We mean to say, you'll pass from alongside the river. As soon as you reach Guptkashi, check into the hotel. Relax for some time in the room and then come out. Before dinner, you should go to the ArdhNarishwar temple in the town. This temple has great importance among devotees. So go there and get holy Darshana. Thereafter, walk around if you find anything interesting. Come to the Hotel for dinner on time. Have your meal and sleep overnight in Guptkashi.
Day 4: From Guptkashi towards Kedarnath and Return (Kedarnath Dham Darshan)
In the morning, wake up early, get ready and eat breakfast. This day will be full of typical teerth yatra experience. You'll be visiting Kedarnath Dham today. There are two ways of reaching the doorstep of Kedarnath Dham. One is that you book helicopter services for Kedarnath Dham only. Second is that you reach there by trekking the long way. Now here we are explaining both ways to reach the temple. Kedarnath Dham By Helicopter To avail of this service, you would have to pre-book the Helicopter services for the temple. There are many Helicopter Service providers in the region, so you can contact them and book your ride as per our schedule of Day 4. While booking the tour package with us, you can discuss this with us also. If we are capable, then we would definitely customise your package by including a helicopter ride to Kedarnath Dham. So following this way, our driver will drop you at the helipad from where you'll get Helicopter for Kedarnath Ji. You'll reach the temple within 1 hour by air. After reaching there, go to the main temple. Perform all the Pooja customs and get an auspicious Darshan of Lord Shiva. Thereafter, you can visit nearby religious sites also. But don't forget to reach the helipad on time to return to Guptkashi. Again get into the Helicopter and come back to Guptkashi helipad. From there, our driver will again receive you and will drive to the hotel room. Helicopter Ride One Way and Return By Trek If you had booked a helicopter ride to the temple for one way only, then there's another way to return. You have to trek the challenging trail from Kedarnath Dham to base camp Gaurikund. After that, you'll get various jeeps present over there. Discuss with the drivers and manage the jeep for Sonprayag on your own. When you reach Sonprayag, try to contact our driver. If there will be any of our drivers, we shall send them for you. Then come to the Guptkashi from Sonprayag with our driver safely. Generally, it wouldn't happen, but in case due to parking lot issues, you don't find our driver there in Sonprayag. Then do not panic, and keep control of your nerves. Many of the transport service provider jeeps will be there in Sonprayag. You should go and have a conversation with a few drivers and manage the taxi for Guptkashi. Kedarnath Dham By Trek Another way to reach Kedarnath Dham is by trekking. This model is comparatively budget-friendly but time-consuming. In the morning, our driver will drop you in Sonprayag. From there hire a taxi to reach the Gaurikund. From Gaurikund, the trek starts at Kedarnath Dham. There will be some horse, Palki or pony providers on the trek route. If you are feeling exhausted, then hire any of these services to trek easily. When you reach the temple, all of your hard journeys will seem worth it. Go and get a rare Darshan of Lord Shiva in the Kedarnath Dham. Offer your prayers and seek the blessings from your heart. After you are done with all the pooja and exploration, trek back to the Gaurikund. From Gaurikund, you’ll get taxi options for Sonprayag. Reach Sonprayag by taxi and then reach out to our driver. Most likely you'll find our driver, so come back to Guptkashi with him. If you don't find our driver due to network and parking issues, then take the help of another taxi to reach Guptkashi.
Day 5: Guptkashi to Joshimath
On Day 5th, get ready to go to Joshimath. After breakfast, check out from the hotel of Guptkashi. Our driver will be there to pick you up. Then he will drive to Joshimath via Pipalkoti. As soon as you reach Joshimath, check-in at the hotel. Thereafter, you might have some idle time. If you are an adventurous person, then walk out of the hotel and explore Joshimath. Joshimath is a small town located on the foothill of Badrinath Dham and so is considered the base camp of Badrinath. This town has a few very popular religious and spiritual sites. With the help of GPS or any locale, you can explore Joshimath. After wandering, come to the hotel before it gets dark. Have dinner in the hotel and go to sleep peacefully. You'll stay overnight here in Joshimath.
Day 6: Joshimath to Badrinath (Badrinath Darshan)
In the morning, wake up with the blessings of visiting Badrinath Dham. Get ready on time to travel. Our driver will pick you up and then drive towards Badrinath Dham from Joshimath. As soon as you reach the holy site of Lord Vishnu, take a bath in the Tapt Kund. All the devotees take a bath in this small reservoir of warm water before proceeding to Darshan of Badrivishal. After cleaning your body and mind, go for the most awaited Darshan of Lord Badrivishal and Mahalaxmi with pure mind and soul. Once you get the Darshan, afterwards you will have idle time to roam around. If you have a desire then you can visit the nearby popular places too. You can go exploring Mana Gaon. Apart from that, you can visit the Vyas Gufa and Saraswati river bridges also. All of these sites are somehow linked with our history and religious evidence. So go and look into the speciality of these places also. After this exploration, again reach out to our driver. He will take you to Joshimath again. Here we shall offer you dinner, so eat it and spend this night again in the Hotel of Joshimath.
Day 7: Joshimath to Haridwar
This will be the last morning of your Teen Dham Yatra. So there's no hustle. Wake up and eat your breakfast in peace. Thereafter pack your bags and get into the car with our driver to the end point of this religious yatra. On the route from Joshimath to Haridwar, you'll witness Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag and Devprayag. If you have a desire then discuss with our driver and take small 10-minute breaks at all of these three holy sites of confluence. Visualise the sacredness of holy confluences and get back into the car to go to Haridwar. After reaching Haridwar, our driver will say goodbye to you. Here, your Teen Dham Yatra will end successfully.
